I found this on a recent shopping trip with my mom and sister! We were practically fighting over it! It matched my colors perfectly and I immediately squealed! (It doesn't take much to get me excited!)
I knew this would look so cute on the wall...but how? Shadow box! I found one at Michael's, unstained, for 3.99.
I stained it with a few coats of stain I already had. Lesson learned....I always forget stain is best put on with a soft cloth. I'm down one paintbrush now, but luckily the hubbs was kind enough to donate a sock and old shirt to the cause!
Notice how I got lazy didn't even stain the entire back. I had a plan! I used scrapbooking paper I already had. Scrapbooking paper can be a cheap way to decorate your house! I glued in the scrapbooking paper after the stained dried, placed the bird in the shadowbox....and VIOLA!!!
Total cost: $10.89. LOVE IT! I can't wait to show you where it's going to go! I'm working on the large 2 story wall and my bird is going to have a perfect perch there :)

OH my gosh, I never knew how crafty you were! I LOVE this piece. When are you coming to decorate my house?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI really like how you showed the process here, and the materials you used. I wanta see the process of some of your other pieces. Great stuff, can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very talented girl!
ReplyDeleteSimply we preferred a wall art for a better decorating view of our house and for that designed wall arts are placed in walls, these products are quite expensive and can't be easily found in market. But while I got the complete description about the process of making these kinds of wall art I must have a wonderful experience over wall art techniques.
