I am in denial that spring break is over, but I did get a million projects finished!
Did you guess what my shutters were going to be used for???
Did you guess what my shutters were going to be used for???
I made a headboard!! The vinyl shutters were $5 from the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store and I had the spray paint already.
It turned out so cute and it made our guest room look even better! (and did I mention it cost $5!!!)

Just a bed on a bed frame.
I took the shutters and spray painted them with Krylon's Plastic Spray paint in white.
I didn't even bother to spray the back of the edges because I was going to put the 2 blue ones in the center and the edges would be covered up.
Now normally, after things are painted, I need to enlist the help of the hubbs. But not this project! I did it 100% on my own!
I had to figure out a way to attach the shutters together. They're only vinyl so I figured it couldn't be that hard. I laid them out on the back porch to superglue and then clipped them together. Not with clamps, because we didn't have any, but I used chip clips!! Yes, chip clips! Don't judge, it did the job.
After that I took a drill bit and just drilled a hole in and then screwed in some screws. There was no measuring, just a few here and there. Later, hubbs filled me in that the screws I used were wood screws. Who cares??? It did the trick!
They were so light so I just used Magic Hooks and a level to put them on the wall.
I just LOVE how it turned out! (and did I mention this was all done about 30 minutes before my In-laws and extended family came over to spend the weekend with us??)
Before...Meets After!

For $5 you've made that room look a million bucks! Very nice. Well done :)
