bedroom re-do

My friend Amanda contacted me about her room. She and her roommate are moving into a new apartment and she wanted to freshen things up a bit. She wanted to keep her existing furniture, but with a new design. This is great way to save money if you have good pieces to work with! Luckily Amanda had some awesome pieces!  Here are a few before photos.

Amanda said she wanted to keep her things white but wanted to bring yellow into the mix. I searched and searched, and came up with a few ideas and made an inspiration board.

I am completely in love with this! The bedding and pillows are from target.com. The end tables are from IKEA and will be spray painted with Krylon's Bright Idea Yellow (that is if we don't end up doing an accent wall!). We will make some sort of canvas wall art, very similar to the inspiration board. I am super excited about the framed wall. We'll use various scrapbook pages and goodwill/IKEA frames to achieve this look. (I told you I love using scrapbook paper to decorate!) The top of the dresser....can you just imagine Amanda's top stenciled like that in a light yellow? EEK!! I'm squealing with excitement now! She's moving this weekend and don't worry....I will be there to help her get started!!
