Craft Room Make over

When we bought this house, I just knew what the small bedroom with slanted ceilings and cute nooks was going to be used for...my craft room! In our old house, I had a craft closet. It was a desk shoved in this tiny closet with bad lighting and no room to work.
This was my craft room until a few days ago. (well half of my craft room!)
and here it is now!!

HAHA!! Gotcha! Yeah I wish. Maybe if I added about 3000 sq. ft onto my room it would look like that! That room actually belongs to the Queen of Crafts, Martha Stewart. You can check out her cool craft room here.

Ok, on to my craft room. I really wasn't going to touch this room as far as decorating, but then I found these......and my head started spinning with ideas!

The look EXACTLY like the ones from PB kids but smaller.
(image from PB Kids)

Same curves, same bead board look on the back, same slats across the front, and the moulding along the top is the same as well. Biggest difference (besides the size of course), mine cost $5 from a church garage sale. and the Pottery Barn one is $89!!!

Mine used to hold bulletins and sheet music in the church's old music room!

I found some raspberry spray paint a few weeks ago in the oops bin. It didn't have a cap so it was marked down to $.50. Score! I knew I could use it for something. When I got these shelves home I painted them the Raspberry by Krylon.

They turned out adorable!

So on to the rest of the room....

Isn't it adorable!! you can see the spray painted sheet music holders. In between, I added a shelf from GW and do you remember my inspirational post that I said started the whole craft room makeover? Well that's what in those frames!

The pots are spray painted Krylon's Avocado with left over spray paint from my table I sprayed a little while ago.  The hot pink flowers on the shelf and the box on the desk are left over things from our wedding. The box holds all the cards my hubbs has ever given me. It's so fun to go through them sometimes!

My MIL helped me put in the pink labels on all the drawers so now I know where everything is!

I'm still working on the chair situation....that's a borrowed one from the dining room. I'm also not going to reveal the rest of the room until I can find some cute hot pink and green fabric!

So.....Before Meets After!

The frugal side of me only spent around $25 and it made a hige difference!! Be on the lookout for lots more projects in this room!

    1. Hey Scarlett! The top is just a piece of MDF board screwed between the shelves with L brackeks.
