So this post is a little unusual for me consider I usually do furniture and thrifty projects around the home. i decided after visiting the grocery store today, I just HAD to share this with my readers!
I've been couponing for a while and it's really made a difference in our monthly grocery bill. It's pretty much been cut in half! Who wouldn't want to do that! I've even brought some friends over to the couponing dark side :)
So here is my secret.....
There are some great couponing websites like coupon mom, Southern Savers, and coupon pages.com. Even Kroger.com allows you to load coupons to your Kroger plus Card. While I use these a lot, many people think its overwhelming and give up on couponing. For beginners I recommend just lining up the coupons with the weekly ads, and you have instant savings!
Today for example, I bought all this at Publix:

My total would have been 71.04! Can you believe someone would pay that much for this stuff! I walked away for 24.07! Now granted this was mainly a "stock the pantry" trip. I didn't buy any meats/fruits/or veggies. Those trips I usually spend a little more because of lack of coupons, but I still look for sales on those things. I just took the Publix ad, focused on all the BOGO items, and then ONLY bought those items for which I had coupons for....it's that simple! The Ronzoni was on sale for .94 a box and I had a dollar coupon. Basically Publix paid me .06 to take home each box!
I used to plan a meal and then take my list to the store, now I go "shopping" in my own pantry. I bu things, then look for meals from what I have. It has REALLY made a difference in our grocery bill.
Here is an example with cleaning products:
These deals were from Target! The great thing about Tar-jay is they let you stack coupons. meaning they will take their store coupon as well as the manufacturer's coupon. I paid 8.72 for all this! The Air Wick spray alone would have cost over $10.00 and the Lysol wipes are around 4 a piece!
Hopefully this has inspired you to coupon! I promise it's so easy! Just match up the ads with the coupons and stick to your list! Once you get good at it, try out the websites I listed above :)
Happy saving!

I still seems overwhelming to me. I'm going to need a one-on-one tutoring session.
ReplyDeleteMy sister is always encouraging me to "coupon" more--but I too find it a little overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteThat is good to know about Target though--that would add up to huge savings. Thanks
Love my coupons! Way to go!!
