A friend of mine that I work with was moving and getting rid of things in her home. She contacted me to see if I wanted this cute little piece.
(don't mind the weeds in my backyard!)
This toy chest is darling and I knew I wanted to make it for a boy. I feel like I've done a lot of girly things lately and I wanted to switch things up a litle.
The toy box needed a good cleaning with goo gone! After all, my friend has 3 kids and I'm sure they loved this thing to pieces!
I opened up the inside and it wasn't as in good of condition as the outside.
So I knew a modge podge project was in order.
I painted the inside and outside with Annie Sloan's chalk paint in Louis Blue. I had some leftover from this dresser.
I went to hobby lobby and picked out some coordinating scrapbook paper for the inside, used spray glue to glue it down, and then put a few light coats of modge podge over it.
After I was finished, I put a few coats of Minwax's clear wax on.
This is what I ended up with!
Isn't it cute?
I couldn't resist putting a pillow on it (even though I know it's too big, but I didn't have any smaller boy looking pillows!!)
What little boy wouldn't want to pull his toys out of this?
It has a quiet close lid and a safety catch so no little fingers can get slammed in here!
The inside has planes, trains, and automobiles on the paper.
If I had a little boy, this would so be staying in my house :)
One last look at Before Meets After
I listed it for sale last night, and it already sold!!
So sorry to any interested parties, but I will keep my eyes peeled for more of these cuties!
Don't forget to enter the Goo Gone giveaway before midnight tonight!
