I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend! Hubbs and I were talking about some upcoming house updates and of course pinterest came up!
You know I love pinterest right? Well the hubbs probably hates it because this is what the conversation in our house looked like....

Me:"Hey come look at this"(insert some ridiculous pinterest project)
Hubbs: " What are you going to do with that?"
Me: "Well I was kind of thinking that you could make that for me!"
Insert groan, rolling eyes, or hysterical laughter from the hubbs.
This was the reaction that I got when I showed him these pictures for built in beds.
The room that hold my craft room is teeny tiny. I figured it would never be able to be a bedroom due to its small size.
Look at this perfect nook! I used to hate this room....but now my wheels are turning!
Can't you just see one of those cute little built ins there? I'm just concerned about the height of the window off the floor.
I know there are some great websites out there that have woodworking plans....anyone have one they've used before? (And the bed didn't fall apart as soon as you sat on it???)

ReplyDeleteoooooh My office is 81" wide but with the baseboard heaters, there is not enough space for most beds. I really want to make a built in bed with storage underneath that would make it a perfect cozy lounge. Make sure to post instructions and lots of pics!

ReplyDeleteThis bed would look wonderful. You could make 2 foot boards instead of a head board and have storage to boot. put pillows on the sides to make it feel like a couch. Now I want a cute little nook

I'd suggest a trundle style frame, box in a mattress, possibly with castor wheels (locking)to keep the mattress below the window sill. perhaps some reclaimed shutters for the window. Decorative molding around your corner trim or low shelving built in's if you have a good deal of space between mattress frame and wall...a fabulous idea to do a bench or wndowseat! good luck!
