I needed a little break from all the craziness in our kitchen, so I decided to go back to what I love most...painting furniture! I've had jungle green on my brain.
I found these 2 night stands for a ridiculous deal.
I found these 2 night stands for a ridiculous deal.
They were a part of the matching set, one of the pieces which ended up in our master.
They were in REALLY bad shape. so I knew there was no salvaging them like the one in our bedroom.
My best option....paint! I had some "jungle green" oops paint left over from my foyer table.
Since I just finished up the new sew roman shades in in our guest room, I knew I had to get my booty in gear with these nightstands!
I painted them with my favorite primer, Zinsser and then 2 coats of the oops paint.
This is one of the nightstands finished!
I found the cute baskets at Michaels for 50% off, I already had the paint, and I kept the existing knobs and just sprayed them.
I love frugal projects!
The green paint just happened to match my curtains perfectly.
I bet you'd like to see the whole guest room. Well remember that problem with no mattress...we're working on that! In the mean time, I have pillows to sew and art to make.
Oh yeah...and work on our kitchen island!
Here's a Before Meets After picture....
Since it's a guest room, I'm trying to decide what decorative touches to put in the baskets. Any suggestions??

When you paint your furniture do you sand down the wood at all first? Or just jump right into prime and painting?

Beautiful! I wish I were more color friendly but I'm a scardy cat. I live vicariously through people like you lol. I would be honored to have you link this up to my VIP party today =) http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/11/vip-party-36.html
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I can't wait to see the nightstands and window treatments in person! Maybe you could put an inflatable mattress on the bed until you get a real one?
ReplyDeleteLove the "new" nightstands! I don't know what decorative items that you would want to add to the baskets but a few practical ones that I have in a basket in our guest room are a few tolietries, a night light that they can use if they want, and a power strip for charging phones and things while they are visiting.
