Gifts with Glass

Mom....stop reading immediatedly. You will ruin your Christmas present!

Ok...no that we have that over with, I wanted to share with you a REALLY cute and easy gift idea for anyone in your life.

A friend at work sent me this idea, so it's not original. First, you need to buy some of this.
Glass Etching 22-ounce Cream

You can find this stuff at Hobby Lobby. I used my 40% off coupon and paid around $12.

I bought a 20 piece Pyrex set for my mom, but I wanted to make it more personal. Her last name starts with a B, so I used my cricut and some contact paper to cut out big B's.

You will need to lay the contact paper on your cricut where the label side is facing up.
I cut out all the B's and applied them to the center of the glass.

I applied the glass etching creme with a cheap foam brush and waited for about 5 minutes.

I scraped off the excess with the foam brush and put it back into the bottle.  Then I wiped off the excess with a damp washcloth.

I peeled off the contact paper.

The final result!

I just LOVE how these turned out! I might go glass etching crazy and start doing all the dishes in my own house! How cute would these be for neighbor gifts, teacher gifts, etc?

Have you ever used this stuff before? Do you have anything you want to etch?

12 Crafty Days of Christmas: Guest Blogger Roeshel from The DIY Showoff

I am so excited for our last blogger today. Roeshel has an amazing blog, The DIY Showoff. She has featured a few of my projects and I'm so honored for that. Roeshel has a huge blog, but still manages to find time for the little bloggers, like me, out there. She hosts weekly link up parties, which you must join in on!  So, here's to our very last blogger for the 12 Crafty Days of Christmas!

Hi Before Meets After friends! If we haven't met, let me introduce myself. I'm Roeshel from

The DIY Show Off I'm thrilled to be here today!

I've really enjoyed following the 12 Crafty Days of Christmas, haven't you? So many creative ideas and Lisa is amazing! I love her before/after DIY projects.  I'm honored to be invited to share my simple, inexpensive last minute idea with you today.

With the holidays, quick and easy DIY ideas are my best friend, especially when they're great gift ideas too.
Materials:

HOW TO:

Using a stencil or free hand, make monogrammed art work (or silhouette or anything) using a permanent marker on the pre-made burlap wrapped canvas.

It doesn't get any easier than that! I love how it looks old/faded...
The smaller shapes make pretty gift tags/ornaments too.

Thanks so much to Lisa for hosting such a great series!  Merry Christmas!
~Roeshel
