It looks so beautiful!
It didn't always start out as this though.
It had a definite orange stain going on. (Sorry mom!)
It's solid wood so it was a quick sand with my palm sander.
I painted a few light coats of white. Then I stained the top with Dark Walnut by Minwax.
I'd say it was a success!
I changed out the pulls on this one as well. The pulls gave me a little trouble as they were the front screw kind. I couldn't find a color to match so I ended up going with the gold screws. I think it actually draws attention to the beautiful pulls.
A few more of the details!
The Before Meets After
The nightstand reminds me so much of the french dresser I loved so much!
Now if I could only find another dresser to do this to...sigh!
It's for sale in the store if you're interested.

You've done a beautiful job with this table! I found this on the primitive and proper link party. :) Megan
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! I have the same pulls on one of my dressers and I just painted over the top of the screws with some burnt umber acrylic paint to make them blend. :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! You have definitely inspired me to start re-doing furniture! I'm so excited however, my boyfriend is less excited than me! HAHA! He thinks I'm crazy & things are "just fine the way they are"! Men, what do they know!?

ReplyDeleteWow, the little end table is fantastic! It started out with beautiful lines, but the original stain finish just didn't give it justice. Very nice!

So pretty! Have you tried switching the drawers? I think the top drawer would look better on the bottom because it's curves would match up with the bottom edge of the nightstand.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of paint do you use? What kind of finish? I have been painting some furniture in my house, just to change things up. Any tips would be great, Thanks!
