I admit it. Some people have a love affair with shoes. Some with diamonds. My love affair is with furniture.
I am giddy with delight when the Pottery Barn summer catalog arrives in my mailbox. It's like my car can't even make it into the garage before I've dived into it.
Here's why....

I have a favorite antique store, and in the very back is a HUGE room with furniture. When I feel like we're just NEVER going to save up enough to buy a house of our own, or depressed about living in the worlds smallest apartment I go there and lovingly imagine all of those beautiful pieces being properly placed and used in my someday home. I'll take furniture over shoes any day!
