I often time hear people say they never can find anything when they go thrifting. Well you aren't going to if you go once in a blue moon. I stop by on my way home from work 2-3 times a week and mom mom goes looking for me as well.
The key here is go often. You won't find something amazing everytime. Promise. But the more you go, the more likely you'll find something good.
I've been on a thrifting dry spell but today I scored the jackpot.
All of this for $15. 2 lamps, 2 shades (in perfect condition), 2 corbels, and a shelf!
The lamps have interesting detail, but a very ugly color. I have BIG plans for these!

You should have seen me walking around the store trying to carry all this stuff. Next tip for thrifting: don't EVER put it down. People will steal it right out from under you. There was a lady eyeing my lamps and I swear she was following me around the store (My paranoia kicked in).
I have sudden plans for a laundry room renovation after finding the corbels and shelf. I am totally serious!
It's my ADD and it's getting the best of me!
Maybe next week I've have something new in my laundry room to share! (If hubbs doesn't kill me first!)

Nice finds and great tips! I totally know what you mean about being in the middle of the Dining Room and thinking about another room, I do it all the time! Love that you were paranoid someone was following you....ha!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand about the paranoia. One time I found this huge, gorgeous jewelry case. I walked away for two seconds to get my mom and a lady stole it from me! We even asked her if we could take it back but unfortunately she said no. Thrifting is serious business!

This made me laugh! I am in the middle of trying to get my kitchen done, and then a week ago started redoing my laundry room, too. Always too many things to do!
ReplyDeleteYou scored big time! All that loot for $15.00! I can relate to the decorating ADD. Heck, I'm ADD all the time! I agree, we must frequent the thrifty places regularly in order to hit the jackpot! Can't wait to see what you do with everything. I'm following along now.
