After browsing through Pottery Barn's summer catalog a few weeks ago, I noticed a lot of their furniture was sporting the weathered look.
I've always wanted to do something with that finish and it took a little trial and error, but it's finally finished and I LOVE the way it turned out!
It didn't always start out like that.
It took quite a few steps to get that weathered look.
First I spray painted the entire table with Rustoleum's Glossy White.
Then I used Ralph Lauren glaze in Black Satin.
Remember when using glaze, it goes on scary, but just wipe off with a damp cloth and the glaze will stick in all the right places!
The final step in achieving the weathered look was to use Annie Sloan's dark wax.
I just love all the details and dimensions that the different colors bring out.
It even has a cute little drawer to store remotes, magazines, etc.
Here's the Before Meets After.
It's for sale in the store if you're interested!

ReplyDeleteThat would look so nice in our cabin, next to the rocking chair. I love the slim design making it able to fit in some small spaces. Most tables are so bulky they just wont fit in our little living area. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLisa stop being awesome! Love it.
