One of the things I want to tackle this year is our mater bedroom. It's huge. And empty. It became our dumping grounds for unused or unwanted furniture.
I shared with you forever ago some funny things about this room, but now it actually looks worse.
Thanks to water.
Right after Christmas, my new floors were supposed to be installed.
Remember the ones I won from Shaw Floors? Yeah, they're currently sitting in my dining room.
Our roof leaked the night after Christmas, and it went right into our master bedroom.
It came in through a attic storage space, and then into our room, browning the carpets and requiring us to rip everything up. (We were about to rip up everything to have the new floors installed anyways, this just added a kink into things.)
Thank God the new wood floors hadn't gone in the week before because I would have cried. And maybe whined a little.
So this is where we're at right now.

The insurance adjuster, the floor guy AND the roof guy are coming tomorrow. I have to work, so it's up to hubbs to deal with this one. I'm not to happy about relinquishing control over it, but it needs to get fixed. ASAP. I'm not sure how much longer I can stand to crawl over a roll of carpet.
Hopefully I'll have my new floor in soon. I'm dying to share with you all the projects for this room (that are currently shoved in my garage).
When it rains, it pours....literally.
That's life for ya!

Oh not fun! Hopefully they can get it taken care of soon.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear this and you are right thank goodness the new floors were delayed. I can't even wait to see them. I am still thrilled that you won them from Shaw.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted and I'm sure it will look fabulous!

ReplyDeleteGee what could go wrong will go wrong huh? So sorry and the day after Christmas. I'm just so glad for you the new flooring didn't get ruined. Total bummer about such a mess to clean up and have to live with. Will sure look forward to seeing how everything turns out in your master.
ReplyDeleteOur furnace decided to misbehave over holidays. We had to have furnace parts replaced, over $800 just for parts/labor.It's really cold here so no putting it off. I found out I had skin cancer so I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall essentially. I had a chunk cut out of my left breast that was cancerous, had 4 bad precancerous spots frozen. Still living with that as had to have bottom lip spots frozen and it wasn't pretty. Good thing we didn't have New Years eve plans, lol. Have a spot over left eyebrow, top of right ear and bridge of my nose. I go around with neosporin white spots on me all the time. Life just loves to throw out these little challenges doesn't it?
Not telling you this to over shadow your troubles, they're hard enuf to live with. Just so you know you're not alone.Hang in there
oh no! I'm sorry to hear about all of your troubles :( I hope you get some rest and feel better soon!
DeleteGlad your floor wasn't ruined, I can't wait to see it finished.

Oh no!!! I'm at least thankful that the floors were not installed when this happened. Good luck with the adjusters.
ReplyDeleteDarn water. It sounds like you have brought in all the big guns to help so I'm sure it will get fixed in no time. New floors, yea!
ReplyDeleteI my goodness, i'm so sorry! But I'm SO SO SO glad that floors weren't already in! As soon as I saw the title of this post, I thought of that!
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI tried to respond to your comment but you have "no-reply" set up. So bloggers who get comments sent to email can't respond to you there. You can change it in your settings, I can tell you how if you don't know :)
As for your question about photography classes, no I didn't take any. My mom is a pro photographer and I grew up watching her and mostly taught myself how to use the camera. And practiced A LOT!
Even though these were your soon-to-be-old floors I"m impressed you didn't cry!
ReplyDeleteHopefully your new pretty, already in your dining room floors will go in soon!
